Here are my answers to some burning questions:

What's your vibe, Tea? Like who even are you??

The crazy thing is, across your wedding day, you will probably spend the most time with your partner, your photographer and your videographer. All your great moments - we’ll be close by. I’m always super conscious of this! So, my number one goal is sensitivity. I’m aware, I’m listening and watching and I’m sensitive to the needs of the moment. I’m very respectful of the energy you and your family/friends have going on the day, and I’m not going to walk in and change it. There are times when you’ll forget I’m there - that’s perfect. Then there are times when we can chat, have a bit of fun and keep the energy rolling. I’ll chat with you at the right times to make you realise there's just a regular 6ft human dork behind that scary camera, and to just relax and enjoy the ride. I like to keep things fun and light-hearted, but it all has to happen in balance. I work hard to nail that balance. That sensitivity extends to editing your film, I really craft your film to suit what is most important to you. I’m working on what you value from the first moment we chat, and I try to capture moments that will become part of your identity and story as a couple.

I also have the opportunity to curate part of your family history, and I don't carry that responsibility lightly. When your great-great-great-granddaughter starts asking questions about her family, I want your film to be part of that conversation and family culture. I mean come on, your dance moves deserve to become legendary. I’m aiming for heirloom-level quality, a real slice of a moment in your lives to be recorded forever.

Also, “Hey Tea, how do people normally…” is my favourite type of question. I’ve seen every way a wedding can go, and I’m always happy to work with you to make things run just how you want them - and to focus you back to what your priorities are when decisions need to be made in the heat of the moment on the day. Your videographer/photographer are your own personal wedding planners on the day. We’ve done this before and we’re always thinking about what’s happening next. I’m calm. I just want to see you have the time of your life, and it all comes down to supporting you the best way I can through every step of the process. I also often get asked about direction - do I direct. You know what,

Do you direct us?

No. And yes.  My idea of “direction” is basically “setting you up for a win”. I may tweak the spot we shoot in for pretty light, and then I like to get you guys relaxed. That’s so when we shoot, you’re really just being yourselves, and we’re not pretending there’s not a camera right there - because there is a camera right there. But here’s the thing - normally once you guys are relaxed around the cameras, and just enjoying yourselves on the best day of your lives, I wouldn’t dare say a word. You’ll be in the zone. The real stuff is the best stuff!

What’s your style?

In terms of visual style, I’d call it cinematic and journalistic. I’m very interested in people’s interactions, small details and those perfect moments that can come and go so quickly on your wedding day. I'm constantly scanning the room and thinking ahead, and more often than not I’m in the right place at the right time to get your once-in-a-lifetime moment. I've also spent a long time chasing cinematic bliss with cameras and lenses to create a look I'm in love with. Fair warning - ask me about my camera setup and it will get nerdy.

Advice for the camera-shy?

Hate to say it, particularly dudes. We’re often pretty uncomfortable in front of camera. Just relax and focus on what is happening around you - once you cross that line, it's easy. It’s a pretty great day after all - just focus on having the time of your life with your best people.

What’s the diff between the two packages?

The main difference is the additional 1-2hrs of coverage films you get in the Everything package. They are your main formalities complete from start to finish, speeches, first look if you are planning one, first dance, multi-camera ceremony coverage and any other family or cultural traditions you are observing.

I also include any other footage, original audio from the camera, of anything at all I think you might want to see. These are stitched into chapters - for example morning prep, portraits, reception, farewells, depending on what you have planned for the day. The style of these chapters is very much like a wedding film your parents’ generation may have had - clips of anything and everything, people chatting, happy teary moments, grandpa on the dance floor, and everything in between. WARNING if you have kids or a dog, these chapterised films may be extra long and FULL of footage of them. For that I apologise to nobody.

And trust me, some of this footage will become so, so precious to you over time. You may not feel like watching them start to finish every day in the beginning, but imagine being able to step back into your wedding 20+ years in the future. Magic.

The only other difference is you get 8 hours of coverage (not unlimited coverage) in the Essentials package. That’s it!

Could we have extra hours coverage?

If you’ve specced the Essentials package but want me around for longer, you can choose to extend your coverage at $350 per additional hour. If you've specced the Everything package, you've got me all day.

What happens once we’ve made a booking?

If you want me along for the ride,  we’ll do our contracts and such over email. At this point I’m also really happy to answer any further questions, or give any recommendations. I have a genuine passion for weddings and I’m only too happy to chat about any aspect whenever you like.

I think it’s important that we spend some time together. I want everyone who is there on the day to be supporting you the best they can, myself included, and the only way to do that is to get friendly. Weeks or months before your wedding, I’ll come to your place and go through your plans in detail. It takes time to properly go through your day, work out what special things you have planned and if there are any particular points of focus, special circumstances or challenges. We’ll also record our audio-only interview (see below for more deets). This bit is fun.

How do we record the interview that will appear in the first minute or so of our highlights film?

Ah, glad you asked. I’ll come to your place for our final scheduling meeting, and one at a time we’ll have a very casual chat that will turn into you saying nice things about each other. The first time your partner will hear your words is when you watch your film together. Call me a hopeless romantic but I think that’s pretty cute - always gets me excited when I edit it all together. And it is edited! So umms and aahs are totally fine - it’s honestly a very chilled out process.

It’s also great to hear your stories, particularly when I get slightly different versions of how your first meeting/proposal went… everyone has the right to edit their own history a little! (your secrets are safe with me)

How do we light the wick on this baby?

I ask for a deposit of $500. Making a deposit locks in your booking, and straps me in for the ride. I’m ready!

How is balance payment organised?

I don’t ask for balance payment until after I’ve delivered your highlights film - so right at the end of the process.

🎵 Where do you go? * my lovely * 🎵

I’m based in Melbourne but happy to travel. Generally speaking, if you can give me somewhere to crash at the end of the night, I don’t charge anything additional for interstate/international travel. Take me somewhere awesome with you, and I’ll make you an awesome film.

Where can we keep up-to-date with what you’ve been doing recently?

You can find me on Instagram, and I update this website regularly.
